Ciara Hannon founded 11th Hour Productions at 19 with a chaotic stack of misnumbered pages that may have contained a plot somewhere between page 21 and page 21 again. They're fairly certain there were three different page 21s in that draft.

Grammatical errors aside, they built the company through pencil-written addendums, last-minute page swaps, and scenes rewritten at the brink of disaster.

Well, it's called 11th Hour Productions, not 3 PM Productions.

Not long after, Ciara was joined by Saylor Lake, whose performances and organizational leadership became inseparable from the company’s identity. Together, they formed a creative partnership that felt less like formal collaboration and more like two neighborhood boys building a bike ramp in the middle of the street, improvised, chaotic, and driven by the belief that if they kept building and pedaled fast enough, they’d get enough air to justify calling it flying off of a safety hazard.

Together, they crafted sapphic stories.

Stories where lesbian vampires sell makeup, a cowboy and a saloon girl fall in love while contemplating the divine details of the world, and bold what-if questions like what if Adele hunted lesbians, harvested heartbreak, and turned it into hit songs.

Despite producing original queer theatre in a politically conservative state, the company began to gain traction. Producing in 4 different states nationwide and being one of the shows selected to represent the US at WILDE STAGES in Dublin, Ireland.

Today, 11th Hour Productions is led by Ciara Hannon and Saylor Lake. Ciara is the writer and director, Saylor the resident performer, with roles often shifting in service of the work.

As 11th Hour has grown, the heart of the work has remained the same: messy, earnest, chaotic, and rooted in authenticity, built from late-night “what if” conversations and a commitment to taking big feelings seriously in absurd worlds.

The productions have grown. The stages have gotten bigger.

But underneath it all, Ciara is still making weird, heartfelt queer theatre with the people they love.

And somehow through all that chaos...
