Howdy!

Ciara is an Orlando, Florida–based playwright, director, and theatre artist whose work blends cinematic action, sharp humor, and heightened theatricality with emotionally grounded storytelling. Passionate about telling sapphic stories, they create plays that center complex women and ideas that are crazy enough they just might work!

With a background in technical theatre, Ciara approaches playwriting with a deep understanding of how stories come to life onstage. Their work is shaped by a love of theatrical spectacle, inventive stagecraft, and collaborative storytelling, creating worlds that are as visually compelling as they are emotionally resonant.

Ciara is committed to expanding the landscape of queer theatre by creating sapphic stories with the scale, spectacle, and sense of adventure they've long been denied. They believe queer audiences deserve stories that are bold, messy, hilarious, romantic, and larger than life where sapphic characters are free to be heroes, antiheroes, lovers, and legends. Not just the sad lesbian in the corner.
